Product Description

High Precision Ball Screw Driven, Motorised, 3 Axis XY&Z Stage, 100mm -1100mm
(Uses 4 Motors)

Cambridge Digital Technology's range of high precision Ball screw drives are available in 1, 2,3 or more axes and can be combined with Z Axis Ball screw options.  These stages are ideal for scientific and industrial precision applications requiring high repeatability and reliability.  They are supported by our team of experts in motion control.

The moving carriage is mounted on linear guide rails, driven by precision ball screw and attached to linear drive mechanism.  Screw pitches are  5,10 & 20 mm
CDTSSQ-3 Range

OPTIONS
1) XY Movement Range (Stroke) - Z Axis movement range is 150mm by default
We are able to supply standard axes with XY lengths of 100mm to1100mm.
Z Axis is default 150mm stroke, 5mm pitch Ball screw with 23 Frame stepper motor. Please discuss with our technical support team for other options.

2) Screw Pitch
Options are 5,10,20 mm

SCREW SPECIFICATION
Loads of 10Kg (Horizontal) requires larger NEMA 34 motors and corresponding drive (see options in pulldown lists). Restrictions apply on vertical lift weights, please discuss with our technical support team.

3) Stepper Motors
If you wish to build your own system using your own stepper or servo motors  Select "None"
For 3kg & 6Kg payloads  Select NEMA 23 Frame Stepper motors.
For XY 10Kg payload  Select NEMA 34 Frame Stepper motors. (Z Axis Max = 10Kgs)
This decision will also depend on accelerations required. Please talk to our experts for assistance.
(Servo motors are also available - please ask).

4) Drives, Motion Controller, Power Supplies and Cabinet (box)
Every stepper motor will require a corresponding drive (amplifier). If you have selected NEMA 23 Stepper motors then you require NEMA 23 drives, for NEMA 34 steppers select NEMA 34 drives.
If you wish to provide your own external step and direction signals from a PC,PLC etc. just select the drives only.
If you wish to make a complete system with Intelligent Controller select the Drives and controller option.

Note:- This configuration uses 4 Motors (X=1. Z=1. Y=2) which provides control of each motor on the Y axis to avoid jamming (crabbing).  It is technically possible to drive both Y axis motors from a single controller source (for experts only).

5) Cable Chain Management

6) Limit Switches
These are triggered when the carriage reaches end of travel and sends a signal to the controller
Can be used as an emergency stop signal.

Due to our policy of continuous product development and subject to the selected product, the exact appearance/layout of the system may change from that shown.
