High Precision Belt Driven, Motorised, 3 Axis XY&Z Stage, 100mm -1500mm

Cambridge Digital Technology's range of high precision belt drives are available in 1, 2,3 or more axes and can be combined with lead screw options.  These stages are ideal for scientific and industrial precision applications requiring high repeatability and reliability.  They are supported by our team of experts in motion control.

BELT SPECIFICATION
The moving carriage is mounted on linear guide rails, driven by precision toothed belts and attached by a rotating toothed pulley and drive mechanism.  The standard belt incorporates steel wire and is immensely strong and durable. Recommended maximum speed is <500mm/sec..

OPTIONS
1) XY Movement Range (Stroke) - Z Axis movement range is 150mm by default
We are able to supply standard axes with lengths of 100mm to1500mm.
Larger options are available (and are our speciality - see our artwork scanners up to 6m).  We can supply with different lengths for each axis if required.
Z Axis is default 150mm stroke, 5mm pitch Ball screw with 23 Frame stepper motor. Please discuss with our technical support team for other options.


2) Maximum Load/Payload
This parameter determines the profile dimensions of each axis and the corresponding belt width.  Larger loads of over 20Kg (Horizontal) requires larger NEMA 34 motors and corresponding drive (see options in pulldown lists). Restrictions apply on vertical lift weights, please discuss with our technical support team.

3) Stepper Motors
If you wish to build your own system using your own stepper or servo motors  Select "None"
For 3kg & 6Kg payloads < 500mm/s Select NEMA 23 Frame Stepper motors.
For 10Kg,15Kg & 20Kg <500mm/s Select NEMA 34 Frame Stepper motors.
This decision will also depend on accelerations required. Please talk to our experts for assistance.

4) Drives, Motion Controller, Power Supplies and Cabinet (box)
Every stepper motor will require a corresponding drive (amplifier). If you have selected NEMA 23 Stepper motors then you require NEMA 23 drives, for NEMA 34 steppers select NEMA 34 drives.
If you wish to provide your own external step and direction signals from a PC,PLC etc. just select the drives only.
If you wish to make a complete system with Intelligent Controller select the Drives and controller option.

These are triggered when the carriage reaches end of travel and sends a signal to the controller
Can be used as an emergency stop signal.
